The Approved Food Lists

First list below are the items most needed we are requesting as donations. 

Second list below are the items we provide to each child in our program every weekend during the school year. 

Needed Food Items

  • Individual microwaveable pasta cups [Chef Boyardee]

  • Individual microwaveable cups of Mac & Cheese

  • Individual microwaveable cups of Hormel “Compleats”

  • Individual microwaveable cups of Dinty Moore

  • Individual microwaveable cups of Chicken Noodle Soup

  • Granola bars [any variety]

  • Juice boxes [individual, 100% juice]

  • Fruit cups [in fruit juice, light syrup, or sugar free]

  • Jello cups

  • Pudding cups

  • Peanut Butter & Cracker packs

  • Cheese & Cracker packs

  • Raisins [individual small boxes]

  • Individual single packs of cookies


FOOD FOR KIDS is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization developed by our Washingtonville local community. Our purpose is to help supply children in need in the Washingtonville Central School District with easy-to-prepare food for weekends during the school year with an extension of the program during summer months.

Note: Foods should be individual-sized and microwaveable so that a child can easily prepare for self.

1. 100% fruit juice (individual cartons or juice boxes)

2. Prepared pasta: microwaveable cups (Chef Boyardee)

3. Fruit cups (in fruit juice or light syrup or sugar-free)

4. Raisins (individual boxes)

5. Cereal (individual-serving boxes or bowls)

6. Granola bars (any variety)

7. Pudding cups

8. Jello cups

9. Microwaveable mac & cheese cups

10. Cheese & cracker packs

11. Peanut butter & cracker packs

12. Applesauce (individual cups)

13. Pretzels (individual bags)

14. Baked potato chips (individual bags)

15. Fresh fruit (when available)

16. Soups (microwaveable)

17. Milk (shelf-stable)

18. popcorn

19. Dinty Moore individual meals

Food donations may be dropped off in collection bins at Taft Elementary main office, St. Mary's Church outside of St. Joseph's Room, Stop & Shop in Washingtonville and Grace Community Church's lobby area (except Fridays)



Food for Kids is a non-profit 501(c)3 program established in 2015  to feed identified children in need in the Washingtonville Central School District.
